For Christmas, I bought myself Arrtx acrylic markers and acrylic paints in general. (I always gift myself something for my birthday and Christmas XD Am I the only one, or does anyone else do this too?) aaaand once again (yes, yet again) bought a new sketchbook (where are the anonymous sketchbook hoarders ^^”).
Anyway, I’ve been feeling the urge to try out some new art mediums for quite a while now. My most experience is with Copics and watercolor. I’ve dabbled a bit with gouache (not as much as I’d like - I still find it a bit tricky), but I’ve always avoided acrylics - until now.
Acrylics never really appealed to me for a few reasons: Most colors are opaque, and once they dry, they’re no longer water-soluble. That always kind of scared me because I’m so used to being able to reactivate colors with water. In general, I love being able to create soft gradients without too much effort, and I find that really difficult with acrylics (though I think it just takes more practice).
Below, you can see the first pages of my new sketchbook and also my first illustrations using the Arrtx acrylic markers and acrylic paints in general:

Since 2021, I’ve been totally into sketchbooks. I draw more or less depending on my freetime, but whenever I start drawing more again, I often find myself working on one of my (unfortunately now many) unfinished sketchbooks. Today was one of those days. :)
Recently, I bought yet another new sketchbook (ahahahaha.... 😶🌫️) while I was at Action, and I noticed some Twin Markers (cheap alcohol markers) that I ended up buying because I might want to do a Cheap Marker Challenge again - maybe I’ll use these ones. Aaaanyway, I felt like sketching today, and this is what I came up with:

I bought a compressor at a second-hand market.
I've had a Copic Airbrush Set for years (but without a compressor), but I never wanted to use it because I was always worried that I’d soon have to replace the part needed for the air.
It’s like buying particularly valuable materials and waiting for the "right" special moment to use them so it’s worth it. Well, that led to me never using it...
Hopefully, that will change with the compressor, since I won't run out of air so quickly xD
As always when I buy new drawing tools, I just had to draw something :) Since my sketchbook obsession is still going strong, I grabbed one (from my seemingly 100 xDD) and drew my OC Karasu. She usually has black hair with a violet sheen, but this time I wanted to keep it pastel and purple :)
